Sure Dan, and welcome to the forum! 98RC says it's a 49/50 V8 half ton(F1) and the remaining numbers are your consecutive unit number. On the cowl, 3 is your color code, SP is for St. Paul assembly plant, 16M is the build date; decoding to December 12, 1949. The remaining numbers are internal Ford codes not meaning much to us. What you have is a really early '50 F-1. Have you done anything with it in the 3 years you've owned it? Is it a project or driver? Hope this helps, and show us some pics if you've got 'em!
52 Merc, thanks for that info. The wife uses it as a daily driver durning the summer. We just finished installing new suspension front and rear. I'll have to get some new pics and post them soon.

OK, the break down is as such
9= 1949/1950
8R= 8RT/8BA Flathead V8
C= F1 1/2 ton
284258= production# This is actually a 1949 production but obviously titled in 1950
Firewall Stamp
3= Black (color)
SP=Twin City (Saint Paul) Plant
16= 16th day
M=December
4113= ?
342=Build number (for day)
