89 trans problem

89 trans problem
so I have a 89 bronco 2 ran great til the trans came off and broke the fly wheel in two, I got a brand new one and put it on and took the ac out now it shifts hard and out of first gear it shifts at 3500 rpms.
Anyone have any ideas?
O and the old fly wheel had a plate wielded to it, you could clearly see it's been snapped before.
