91 F-150 fuel filter

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 14-Apr-02 AT 03:23 PM (EST)]where is the fuel filter/filters located on a dual-tank sysytem?

it seems that there are a lot of problems with the rear fuel tanks is it even worth the effort to try and fix it?

As you sit in the truck, left side on inside frame rail, past the back of the cab. To change it you need to depressurize the system and the cheap disconnect tool you can buy at any parts place. You also have to remove the clip.

Your '91 was made before they went to the style that required any special tools. Pull the old clips out with a screw driver, pull the filter out of the bracket, pull the lines off, install new clips that should be with the filter, the lines will then "click" onto the new filter, put it in the bracket, and your done. Once you have done it once and see how it works, it will never take you more than 30 seconds to do it again.
