Alight guys I have searched today for quite while with parts stores and no one would help me out. So I have a 1978 F250 4x4 400 manual trans w/ac. Truck was bought in South Texas and the cool thing is I have all the original paper work on the truck including the window invoice. And for the life of me I cannot find my carburetor from when I sent my engine to the rebuilder. needless to say I am finally to the point I need a carb to fire up my truck. I went to the local old junk yards to find numbers and all are missing carbs. So hope fully someone can help me out.
1978 F250 4WD 400 M/T with factory installed integral A/C non CA emission. 4WD & factory A/C makes no difference:
D7TZ-9510-CU .. 2150 series 2V Carburetor - Carb ID tag number:D7TE-CUA (Motorcraft CA-1953) / Obsolete
Applications: 1977 F150/350 400 M/T non CA emission from serial number Y80,001 / 1978/79 F150/350 400 M/T non CA emission.
1977/79 F100/350 400: There are 27 different 2150 carburetors for these trucks, I kid you not. Some of these carbs were also used with 302's (F100/150) and 351M's
With/without A/T, with/without CA emission, before/from certain serial numbers, some are specific to F100's, some are specific to F350's.
1975/79: Without the tag number, it was a PITA back then...and today trying to figure out which of the 5 different 2150 carb kits these trucks used.
2100 series carbs installed in 1962/74 cars/F100/350's, 1966/74 Bronco's & 1969/74 Econolines used 1 carb kit.
Yeah today when I went to the auto parts they tried to give me a old carb but was a 4 barrel. And it didn't have a tag on it either lol. I looked up stuff they had at the store and no luck.

From this era, a 4V would have been installed on an 1974/76 F100/350 390 or a 1973/79 F100/350 460. Depending on the application, it could be either a Holley or a Motorcraft 4V carb.
Look at the bright side, none of these trucks came with the gawd awful 2V VV (Variable Venturi) carbs, that were crap from day one. These were only installed on specific '77/79 cars.
I would go aftermarket but not right now. I want to get the truck running so I can take it to paint. Later on I am thinking of possibly converting it to efi but still unsure or put a 4 barrel set up on it. As of right now I need to get it running and get it painted and lowered. So now my next goal is to find someone that wants a lift or find another junk truck to get stock suspension from it.

On your 6" lift what if you take out the blocks on the back and reuse the spring ..
Yeah that's what I am hoping I can do is reuse my rear springs and just remove the stock block. And new springs in the front. I think the rear has 2 inch rear blocks. Btw my lift is a skyjacker maybe I can call them and they can help me out.
