Angry Replacing inner fenders

Anyone know where I can buy replacment rear inner fenders for an 80-86 Bronco. I cannot find these darn things any where. Also I was wondering if anyone knew if 87-96 inner fenders would work, and/or if they even make those any more. Any help would be much appreciated!

Replacing inner fenders

I'm sorry. When I said rear inner fenders, I actually meant the metal located behind the rear quarter pannel. Mine has rust holes in it from when the quarter rusted out. This is the metal above the tires, what the plastic splash shields are on/below.

You should look for a whole body tub. It'd be more work for you, but MUCH cheaper and you'd KNOW how well the work was done (factory).

Replacing inner fenders

I have the same probelme with my '80 Bronc. The rear quarters are pretty well rusted out and I am trying to figure out what to do. The inner fenders are mush and I have not been able to find anything to replace them with.

Steve83: Where woudl one get a whole body tub? What is that exactly? Is that the 'bed" of the Bronco?

Man, that sounds like major teardown for this amateur.

Replacing inner fenders

I'm really getting down about my machine. I thought I might be able to get away with just replacing the lower part of the quarter panel, but the more I poke around and find jsut how bad the rear quarters are rusted, not to mention the turned-to-mush inner fenders, it looks as though I will have to replace the entire quarter panel which looks to be a b**ch of a job. AND I don't have a welder and it has been twenty-five years since I have touched a welder! In addition, to have the rear quarters shipped, one has to have them trucked to a business rather than your residence, a real PIA.

I feel like selling the truck as is and getting something newer. I have read about guys getting into thousands as they remove one thing to replace and something else is discovered to be shot.

Yeah, I know I can take a class at the local college in welding, then buy a thousand bucks worth of welding equipment, but then, my job will not allow me the time to take the class and my wife would have a fit if I bought wekding gear when she has been lobbying for some home improvement stuff. I wonder if I can teach myself to MIG weld?

Hmmm...didn't I see a post somewhere some time back that one could install that rear quarter with the new panel adhesives? I keep reading great things about them.

Sorry about the ramble.

Replacing inner fenders

Any junkyard would LOVE to sell a Bronco body tub, which is the cab & bed - everything from the firewall back to the t/g opening. I only paid $200 for the '82 tub that's in the pic above, but there are at least 4 near me now that are MUCH newer and not much more expensive. It's all bolt-on, so you only need some help to lift the old shell off & set the replacement on. You'd be surprised how light an empty body is - I lifted mine alone when it slipped off one of the jack stands.
