Guys,
Just gassed up the truck and figured up that I'm getting 15.5 MPG. Do you guys get this. Is this good or bad.
My truck's a 94 F150 Supercab w/3.55's and 5.0 w/AOD.
Are there any mods I can do cheaply to get better mileage and/or response from it. I've already bumped the timing like you guys suggested and it made a world of a difference.
Thanks,
John
That sounds about average. I get around 18.5avg with my 1993 Reg Cab 2wd 5L/E40d/3.55 gears. The best two things to do for mpg is to ease up on the rpms and keep your truck in healthy condition. You might think about a tonneau cover/campershell and a better exhuast system.
15.5 mpg sound about right, assuming your not driving in California, excellent if you are driving in California. I get between 13-14 mpg on California crap gas. Got a 5.0/E4OD/3.55/Ex Cab.
15.5?! thats very good, 18.5 is even better, my 89 5.0/AOD/3.55 gets about 13MPG and its a reg cab short bed, i've got duals, and a shift kit in the tranny. i'm going to advance my timming and hollow out my cats(one of these days) also i think my plenum gasket is cracked, but it idles at 900-1000rpm with the a/c on and about 1200-1300 with it off.(i'm going to check the timming on it, myabe it is retarted to compensate for the high idle that the plenum gasket causes?
Hey I would kill for 15.5mpg. I am in flat houston and get 13-14 on a 94 150 5.0 3.55 AODE 2wd. About 3/4 of the miles are hwy 30 miles each way to my office 70-75 mph. I already have cat back dual exhaust and am looking for anything to get this up some.
