i was going to ask the same thing... i have a 98 eb with a sunroof, so i dont even think an overhead monitor is even an option. and i hate to lose my factory stereo and cd changer... i guess i could always put it in the headreast, but im like you, i hate to have someone mess up the leather seats when they do it...
DVD or screen options? As far as a dvd player goes, center console is always an option. Playstation 2 plays DVD's so you get more bang for the buck. Glove compartment is also always an option, as is under one of the front seats. For installation ideas shoot me an email, I have plenty of photos from past work we've done and some from shows, and just some great ideas I've run across and used on customer trucks.
For screens, flip down screen in the 10 - 17 inch range aren't too bad on the passengers. There's consoles availble that will drop them a few inches more.
Those with sunroofs might benefit from a dual flip down installation. I'm attaching a link to the pictures, hopefully they work. Installation isin't terribly difficult.
headrest screen install -
Big screen for rear pass, small for front in a navi -
x-box install in rear console - lotsa cutting

What's your experience with a TV tuner? What type of reception can you really get in the city using dual diversity antennae (amplified)? Can you hold the channel if you are moving?
I have a 97 that I put a monitor and DVD player in. I purchased the back piece of the center console that has a spot for a monitor from Crutchfield. Put a Clarion monitor in that and then placed a small DVD player under the passenger seat. Looks and works great!! I can e mail pics if you want to see it. I just checked Crutchfield and cannot find the monitor housings for the '97s anymore but I'm sure there are some out there for 97s and up. Good luck!

Thanks again.
I haven't had much request for mobile television capabilities using DDA converter signals from standard antennas even amplified, mostly due to the fact that even in urban areas, reception is hit or miss.
I have installed an Alpine TCS system which uses the signal from 4 smaller reception specific DDA antennas which lie flat on the roof to pull in standard broadcast channels. This system seems to work really well and is cable hookup compatible for campsites that offer such luxuries. The system runs around $400 with a standard $100 install.

Mattias, yeah unfortunately that's a DVD add on that I don't like. I'd rather go with tuner designed for just that and link it to my system. The only time I've ever used the tuner in my personal nav was to catch the opening quarter of a Ravens game when we were stuck in traffic heading to the stadium. And reception was spotty at best from the Panasonic unit I have.
They are actually coming out with satellite television for vehicles. The new antenna is only 4 1/2 inches high and mounts to the roof rack. Pretty wild!!!
