Big Problem?
Hi guys, I have a 1990 Ford Bronco. It has the 351W engine. Today it was really hot, probably around 105* outside!! I had the A/C in my Bronco on full blast. There was alot of traffic, so I saw an opening and hit the gas hard, it revved close to 4,000 R.P.M. When I pulled into the Denny's parking lot to grab a bite to eat, I noticed my Check Engine Light was on. THe truck never went past the "O" on the temp. gauge. I don't know what could be causing this. It has never done this before. Can someone please tell me what I should check or what I can do to fix this problem. I really would appreciate some help!!

hmmmm, has it cooled down, so you can drive it? Also, check the fluids, all of them. And finally, get the code(s). Those should help alot.
Here is a guess, you went over rev limit and the poor hot machine is queasy.
Get the codes first.

Hi, the truck didn't have to cool down, it never over heated. I don't think that 4,000 is going over the rev limit, I might be wrong. I already did check all my fluids, they are clean and full. As for the codes how do I do that. I don't have a code reader. WHere can I buy one? Thanks for all your help!!

You don't need a code reader. Do a search for "pull codes" and look for posts by Steve83. He always puts in a link to instructions for pulling the codes with a jumper wire or paperclip. The codes should tell you what sensor tripped the light, then you can figure out what to do.
