I will be rewiring my '63 soon and was thinking about where to place the fuse box. I'm afraid if I put it on the side of the cab, under the dash it will get kicked and possibly damaged. It was suggested to me that I could put it under the hood, perhaps mounted on the firewall where it would be easy to access.
I'd like the thoughts of forum members on that please.
I mounted it here on a plate I made. All the wiring was accomplished without the seats in the truck and without the instrument cluster in place. It went fairly smoothly. This is a Ron Francis kit.
Keep in mind you won't have to worry about replacing a fuse if everything is wired up correctly to begin with. They last a long time as long as you don't overload the circuit. I realize it probably seems like the "brain" of your wiring project, and you feel like you need to "see it" at all times right now, but after you complete the project it's more like out of sight, out of mind.
