I bought a nice laminated wiring diagram from Classic Car Wiring, but it doesn't include the two circuits I wanted to see most (wipers and lighter). My wiring is a rat's nest; the original lighter is not hooked up and there's no telling how it went together. I don't see a fuse for it in the headlamp switch--where else would I look? Also, does anyone know what amperage that circuit is rated for?

The lighter fuse (FEW-14429-A) is barrel shaped, threads into the backside of the lighter socket. T'other end of the fuse has a threaded stud that the wire pushes onto.
If the fuse is the factory installed original, it will have a hole in it. By sticking the end of a paper clip into the hole, the fuse can be reset unless it has failed.

Thanks, Bill. Do you have a picture of the beast? I'm pretty sure the socket in there is not original--nothing of that description attached to the back. I've got a chain-store replacement, would like to make sure the fuse will attach to it. Otherwise, I'll look into an in-line replacement.
