Ive been trying for almost 2 weeks to get some new wheels and tires on my 76 F350 SCS. Figured it would be easy to drop down to a 16in rim. No can do. The rims rub the calipers on the front so going to upgrade to 17's.(Maybe it was the type of rim I chose). Not as many options there for wheels but we got that solved. But the LH lugnut issue remains. Anyone know where or who sells left hand 9/16 lugnuts?
I'm ditching the 16.5's due to availability and selection. If anyone out there has an F350 SCS with some sweet a$$ aftermarket wheels and tires post up some pics. Id like to see what ya got and how you solved the LH lugnut issue. Another option I'm thinking is to just change the wheel studs themselves to RH thread.
I absolutely love how they look...too bad that they hit the calipers.
It will make life SO MUCH easier to switch out to right handed thread studs. That way EVERYONE will have lug nuts for your truck.
I'm thinking that's what most people have done. I just haven't seen many write ups on it. I'm starting to lean that way on this issue. I know NAPA has the studs.
Swapping lug studs is easy, especially with it being 2wd.... just take the rotor off, tap out the old and PRESS in the new. While you are at it insp and repack the front bearings and insp the brake shoes.

Those wheels you chose look awesome, but please be aware that you really need to be careful about the backspacing.
Even if those had not hit the calipers, there is a good chance that your tires would hit your sway bar when you turn.
If there is a way for you to test the fit and clearances before you sign on the dotted line, do it!
i'm pretty sure that's where i got mine, the tire store and local Napa didn't have nuts in stock (easiest solution) when i put my new wheels on. hopped on the iphone while i was waiting for the tires to be mounted and I'm pretty sure thats the same place i got mine from, showed up 2-3 days later. I had to get the long/deep acorn style to clear my wheels.
Fit with 16's on the front is a bit tight with twin piston calipers. It depends on the wheel. I recently switched from 16.5 to 16". I used US Wheels steel 16x7" (below). They fit the twin piston front brakes fine and have zero offset which Dents seem to like. Also a high weight rating which I need. I "think" 8" wide wheels in this type would fit fine as well.
I managed to find a set of LH 9/16" lug nuts (long style) from the local Les Schwab and they were used. They were made by McGard and they are definitely a premium lug nut. Counter guy said they cost $6/piece new but these things fit tight in the socket and they do not rust from the road salt like the other 24 lug nuts do. I would recommend that brand if you can afford it:
