What tool are you using to read EBP?

Have you cleaned the tube that the EBP sensor screws into? (weedeater line or similiar works)

Unless I am badly mistaken, the turbo, has nothing to do with reading 20 psi boost without the engine running. It has to be in the wiring. Electrical gremlins can be the worst to find, but are usually low cost repairs. I'll see if I can findmy pcm connector diagrams and post them. That will tell you with pcm wires go to the ebp sensor. Debugging starts there. Maybe Rusty or Sean will post them I know those guys know where they've filed them on their computer.

Are you sure you're reading psi and not another unit of pressure?

Boost is reading perfectly fine. Ebp sensor is reading high. With ebp plugged in I register boost on gauge, but truck just jumps wanting to take off but it won't.... And it's very jumpy... Not drivable like this... With ebp unplugged it will only build about 5psi of boost ebp (21.14 I think) and truck doesn't jump at all and runs much smoother... It just won't build up anymore power. Still takes forever to get up to speed

Ok with ebp unplugged truck builds boost normally on gauge it went up to approx 19psi (that was the hardest I got on it) and it took a long time to get there. Lots and lots of lag (3+ seconds)... Exhaust won't kick in it all and echo like the 5" turbo back usually does. I also noticed while driving a pretty steady speed (approx 45-50) I could hear the turbo spool up and slow down, spool up again, and slow down... Also my girlfriend followed me and reported white smoke at first that gradually went away as the truck warmed up. I don't know where to start

Hey guys after some research I've found that a lot of people with the sct tuners report ebp readings similar to mine
Apparently this means my ebp is reading normal just sct problems in the code... I guess this narrows things back down to the turbo... Should I try to $125 garret rebuild kit? I'm pretty handy and can get the turbo out or in in about 20 mins (cause I've done it so much lol). Just wondering y'all's thoughts. Thanks

I would disconnect the exhaust as forward as possible to rule out the high exhaust back pressure. high exhaust back pressure will also give a turbo underboost reading.

I have 5" turbo back exhaust... And I'm not getting the turbo underboost code anymore. That's only with the ebp unplugged I get that... After more driving today the trucks actually drives really got WOT after warm... A good bit of lag but once it kicks in it drives great.... Basically when speeding up from a stop, the trucks jerks forward and backwards and you can hear it in the exhaust, and then as you gradually get up to speed and the trucks gets into higher gears it becomes less and less of a problem

Alright guys I'm almost ready to give up. I pulled the turbo to rebuilt it because I knew the oil seal was leaking, thus causing my white smoke out the exhaust... So I ordered a upgraded rebuild kit with a 360 thrust bearing and all that stuff from a diesel shop. I followed instructions precisely online. Reinstalled the turbo and now no boost... Nada, 0. Gauges doesn't move off 0 at all on my sct x4... However when the truck is running and I un plug the pig tail going into the turbo I hear it cut off, and when I plug it back in it comes back on... The VGT duty cycle is changing in the truck and I cleaned all that very well so I know it's not sticking. Also there is a lot of black smoke on accelerating, and no power what so ever... I think the exhaust back pressure problem is completely un related to my turbo problem... The turbo also has a good bit of smoke coming out from around it after driving the truck... Could possibly be oil that was on it, or I messed something up on the inside... Please help

Exhaust leak at turbo? Could explain no boost but you hear the veins working. However, since you've reinstalled the turbo a lot, I'd think you'd know when it's not installed with the exhaust tight.

^^^ I'll check on that tomorrow... Yeah pretty sure it's tight but always a possibility... Still wouldn't explain the smoke around the turbo.

Would this cause an absolute zero boost?
