Ok guys, I know this topic has been bled dry on more than one occasion but bare with me for a sec here. I got a 1992 ford f 350 dually that I REALLY want to convert to a 4 WD 4x4. I plan on finding a doaner truck that rolled or something and just take all the 4x4 components off of it and use them on mine but does anyone know of any problems or tricks I should know about before I start this project??
For example, mechanical parts are mechanical parts and will work when installed right but will I need to get a diffrent computer for this conversion? Keep in mind I don't believe in automatic locking hubs so I'll be using a set of Warn mechanicals.
Make sure that the front axle has the same gears that the rear has. You are probably going to reset the computer with one of those power programmers. But like everybody says, just buy a new or older 4X4.(or just buy a good-frame/suspension doner and just transplant your body and bed.)
