weird rubbing noise while driving

Hello guys. I have a weird rubbing/squeak noise from what it sounds like the rear. It occurs only after ive been driving for about an hour then it never goes away. Thought it was the pads so I put all new ones on. Maybe a bearing of some sort. I'm totally going nuts over this and cant pinpoint it!

What is it for a truck? Year? FX4 or not? Is it at highway speeds or sharp slow corners?
Elaborate.

its a 13, lariat, no FX4 package and its constant regardless of speed after i drive for about an hour. its weird but once it starts for the day, it doesn't stop.

It's really tough to help with noise complaints without directly hearing said noise violator. Parking brake perhaps? Could try lightly applying it at slow speeds to limber it up a bit. My other thought is maybe the rubber tailgate stops are squeaking over bumps, give them a quick squirt of wd-40 and see if that helps.

Have you ever brought this to the attention of your dealership, antwan181? What's the current mileage on your truck? I'll see what I can do to help.

I have heard that same noise on my 2013 F350 FX4 on a couple occasions. Each time I have pulled over and stopped to look and smell for a cause but to no avail.
Problem is that it doesn't do it all the time nor often enough that I would depend of it to do so if I take it into the shop. At this point the only thing it is effecting is my hearing. In the mean while I have plenty of warranty to go.
But, if someone does come up with a root cause or fix, I'm all ears.....well for the most part.

Squirt some wd-40 on the rubber stoppers for the tailgate. Both sides, get back to me...

I have bought it up to them but for about the last 2 weeks im still waiting for my a/c compresser and clutch (thats a story in itself that they did) but theyre willing to check it out when the parts come in... but im going crazy over this because i am a guy of OCD lol. Its got 20k on it. Only other thing i can think of is the bearings maybe.

I thought it was that at first but nope. This noise is like a ear drilling rub and squeak... hard to describe obviously through words

I would use a silicone lubricant on rubber before WD40. It can degrade some rubber. Why chance it?

Thanks for following up, antwan181. Let me know what they have to say when they inspect; I'll be able to escalate this to your customer service manager (CSM) once your dealership has diagnosed it for you.

Sorry I wasn't any help. The tailgate is a common irritant so hopefully others may find success in their noisy future.

I hope you get it figured out.

I've got a 2013 f250 super duty and mine does the same thing. Crazy rubbing I can feel it in the steering wheel and feet when it does it. But only here and there. Of course I can't duplicate it when I take it in. Can't figure it out and it's killing me!!

Sounds frustrating, JPMF250. Be sure to bring it up whenever you go to your dealership for maintenance visits; hopefully they'll be able to replicate it soon and get this taken care of. How many miles are on your truck?

I just went back to the dealer today and the same thing happened to me. He looked at me like i was crazy but they said they'll have a tech drive it around next week... hopefully they will find it!
