How do you tell if the fan clutch is too loose? Mine seized on my 90 bronco 4x4, 302, the other night. It sounded like an airplane when revved up over 2000 rpm's. So, I bought a new fan clutch and installed it. It spins freely by hand but when I drive it it still sounds like an airplane over 2000 rpm's still. I'm wondering if it is too loose or something , I've checked it when hot, cold and in between.
Also, what would cause an engine's rpm's to drop slowly when revved up. When I push in the clutch it takes about 2 1/2 - 3 seconds to drop to idle. I've never had an engine drop so slow before. Sometimes it even jumps alittle when I push the clutch. I have checked everywhere for a vacuum leak and couldn't find one.
