Does anyone know what it takes to replace the pressure switch on a 1994 Arrowstar 4.0L? I found that the pressure switch is falty by trouble shooting the system. I pulled the wires off and jumped them and the clutch engaged.
My '93 shorty's pressure switch is located on the Accumulator. When I replaced the Accumulator recently, the switch just unscrewed off of the fitting (schrader valve). Be aware that there is a small "captured" o-ring on the Accumulator fitting. When I removed the switch, the o-ring came off about half way with the switch. Don't lose the o-ring! The replacement that came with the Accumulator was the incorrect size and I had a leak. I reused the original o-ring and have no problems....to date!

If your switch is on the Accumulator like mine, then no, you don't have to do a recharge. The fiting on the Accumulator has a Schrader Valve in it (like a bicycle tire). The valve isn't depressed until the Switch is screwed on completely. Don't forget about the O-ring!
