28 years ago, the p/m at Gaudin was the p/m at Woodland Hills L/M while I was the p/m of Lynch L/M in Santa Monica.

There are some things that are so funny, one never forgets...

In 1988, FoMoCo opened up the Commerce parts depot for LA Zone Parts & Service reps, Ford & L/M p/m's to take a tour.

A guy driving a fork lift whizzed around a corner in the warehouse, clipped a rack holding 100's of 16138's.

The rack fell over spilling all the supports in a huge heap, while we all ran in various directions.

One of the p/m's taking the tour said: "Now we know the reason why we get damaged sheet metal!"

I got one like that. 1989 to 2008 I worked for Lou Grubb Ford/Power Ford doing my current wholesale parts phones job Plus I was the P/M of our Ford Motorsports parts. 2003ish a new truck lines got the contract to deliver the Motorsports parts orders. I was having fits getting in undamaged shipments because of their forklift drivers....OBVIOUSLY. At this time I went back to visit freinds/family in my home town of Toledo Ohio. The warehouse manager at Motorsport (Detroit) found out and asked me if I'd come to a meeting with himself and hauchos from that truck lines. I did. On a Soap Box. They came up with all the lame excuses they had been giving Motorsport. I shot down every one. Professionally but by the time it was over they left that office with their tails between their legs and eyes to the ground. Me on the other hand left gleeming like I just one the lottery. Motorsports dumped that truck lines soon after.

Sorry for the temp hijack OP.

I think the next time I run up to the pick n puk i'll snag me a set off a bronco or something. You know I was thinking that I could use a n.o reed switch and magnet as well. if I wanted to hide the switch better.

Thanks Bill.
Char, the bracket you are asking about is #13B756 in Bill's pic above. It basically bridges across the big hole in the sheetmetal.

Quick question. If the truck doesn't have the door switches, does it have a dome light inside?

BTW, the switches themselves are $10 at rockauto. Don't grab them from a junkyard. Some years back the plastic that held drivers side switch in place crumbled from age and the switch fell into the jamb, kept the light on, and killed my battery. So I saved money and got one from the junkyard and installed it. Guess what happened?

Slapped myself upside the head and got new ones. A wise man once told me "One pays for an education".
