Just looking ahead at what I may need for brakes and wanted some opinions and facts on floor mounted brake booster vs firewall mount. I like the clean look of the floor mount so I am leaning that way. Plans are a crown Vic front end with disc front and back.
I have frame mounted on my 53 F100 and my 40 coupe. In fact, I have never had a firewall mounted mc on any of my hot rods. Never had an issue. I will be redoing my mc on my 53 and will install a remote fill top on it. Have that on my 40 and it sure is nicer than moving carpet to check/fill.
If you go under the floor which my last two trucks had, remember the inline residual valves. 2 lbs for disc and 10 lbs for drum. I also use the remote reservoir for ease

X2 Do all those things and it will work just fine.
Just a FYI for Panel's, with the under the cab power masters you will run into interference with the within the framerails fuel tanks. Don't ask how I know
I have under the floor and like the cleaner look. Some people do not like the floor pedals because they "do not like cold air blowing up their leg" I drive mine in the winter and have no complaints with just the repro rubber floor mat.
You only need the residual pressure valves if your master will sit lower than the wheel cylinders when parked.
I prefer the hanging pedals as it gives more foot room for the driver, and feels more natural
to push the pedal towards the firewall than stepping on the pedal.
I would hate to have to work around a firewall mounted mc and booster. I personally have no problem going from my F150 or wifes Venza to driving either of my vehicles with floor pedals.
I was considering making a linkage system that would be internal to the cab to operate the under floor MC.
However once I started driving with the floor pedal I have never once
thought I need hanging pedals. Yes you may have to lift your leg/foot a little to push them down but I never have any problems.
