I have a 99 F150 Ext Cab 5.4 Eng. My Dome - Cargo - & Door lights all stay on the only way i can shut them off is to remove the relay. I switched the relay with a nother relay & it did not help. Where are the switches that control these light located ? The door ajour light on the dash does work and i think the switches for that light is in the door latch. Please help if you have any info. Thanks in advance Don
Had that problem on a '96 Ford Ranger, dome lights stayed on and the chime would continue when the keys where in the ignition even after the door was closed. The fix was spraying WD-40 in the latch. The switch inside must have been gummed up. Not sure if this is the same problem you're having or if this fix will work.
I have the exact OPPOSITE problem on a 95 ranger 4x4 ext cab. My dome light doesn't work at all. doesn't work with the doors open or with the switch on the dash. The fuse for the circuit is ok, could it be a problem with a relay somewhere? I read something about the GEM maybe? The door ajar light also stays on, but i'm going to try oiling the latches later. I'd really like a dome light, makes it really hard to find stuff at night
I have a 95 Club Wagon with a dome light problem. The lights all work when you activate the switches that are part of the individual light fixtures, but none of them come on when you open the doors and/or twist the headlight switch. About once a day, the fuse for this circuit blows, taking the radio and the side mirror control switch with it. I had an electric shop spend 3 hours ($300) tracing circits, but they found nothing. I isolated the radio, but the fuse still blew. I replaced the headlight switch, but that didn't fix it either. The door switches all look to be in good shape, and the van itself is in mint condition. What could this be?
