E40D Transmissions

Hey does anyone here preferably near fay/FB know anything about the E40D transmissions? It is a long story but I want to see if the transmission shop was trying to #@$@ me over. I currently have a box of transmission as I refused to pay them to reassemble it as I had never told them to dismantle it. I havn't been able to find another shop that is even willing to look over the parts and I know nothing about the workings of a automatic. if it matters it is for a 7.3 diesel F-350

Figured I'd speak up since it's been quiet. It's tough to put a trans back together that someone else has taken apart. I would have thought that the shop would quote you D&A before performing it. What did they state was wrong with it?
