Hello everyone,I'm new here. I have read the forum's section for a while and have found it very helpful. I have a 49' F-1, restored to original, with a flat 6. The shop that painted the truck, painted the grill the same color as the truck. I believe the grill should be painted Argent silver.I am not able to locate this paint by "name" does anyone have a number to reference to. Also when is next years Nationals? I know it's at Pidgeon Forge, but what hotel or hotel's are nearby? Thanks NC17474
As one of the more normal individuals that frequents this forum, may I be the first to say - Welcome to the FTE 48-60 forum. Largely a great bunch of folks.
RE: PF2004 -
Do a search on this forum using " Pigeon Forge" and you'll find a long thread entitled something like PF2003. There is all kinds of info in there on hotel/motels - good and bad.
When is it? Don't know but it might be in that thread as well. If not someone will pipe up.
RE: Paint codes/names - Sorry, can't help you. But somebody else will jump in soon.
Hey welcome to FTE! I'm useless as far as help goes(I only give links) but I still will dig up as many links as your help needs. Pigeon Forge is the second weekend in may. Hope this helps(it usually doesn't), later -4speed
Welcome...Great bunch here that is always ready with an opinion and sometimes even help
I have not heard on PF2004 yet, but PF2003 was great a must see event.
Hotels there are a bunch... 'fenders and his family stayed at the Family Inn and it was so nasty that they checked after the first night and got another room. Probably don't want to go there...
I live about an hour away from Pigeon Forge, I will try to get a list together soon of hotels and pub them on the web site. Maybe we could even get a group rate at one of them. One think to remember about PF it is DRY!!!
Welcome to the family here in this forum....we all have ideas, opinions and knowledge with that we help each other out a lot...remember that even the most dumbest question you can think of - somebody will answer it and help you out...one thing is for sure...you are starting on a trip that will have a lasting impression on you when finished....good luck and keep the posts going.......
NC17474, I tried looking through my 1948-56 Parts/Acces. Text book and all I found on the Argent Paint is Argent-Lacquer #M- 2J 23-L it shows to be a 1 pint container. Also I found Argent (Spray Can) #M 2J 23-S and it shows to be a 12oz. container. I don't know if this will help you in anyway ,but as I myself am starting on a '56 and will try to help you or anyone else I can (Probably not much) when I can. Also welcome to the club I myself have been reading on this fine outlet of info. since 01/2000 and have learned a great deal just reading the Q/A. As far as the Super Nationals go I always remember it's the weekend after Mothers Day (another weekend to really remember!!!!!!) Keith
