transmission impossible

has anyone ever seen a 10 speed a transmission with an electric spliitter bolted up to a 360 in a 73 F100 you have to split each gear like a super 10 in a big rig just bought it today cuz I thought it was cool runs and shifts great dont know why you would need it in an F100 but hey its different

Dont know how to attach it to the engine, but would feel it would be way over kill in that truck. You wouldn't even need the low side of the transmission unless you like to pull houses with your f100. Whats the finally drive ratio in it? Is it still 1:1, unless it has some overdrive gears you wont gain anything but a bunch of gears that will be so low they are useless to you.

not sure the final drive but its got to be a ford tranny it bolts up direct uses the ford clutch linkage almost looks like it belongs except for the cross member its not factory but its a well done custom job its not just thrown together I got it up to 90 and still had more but the motor is old and smokes so I backed off but no shakes or shimmies how can I find out what the factory tranny was for this truck

You must not have seen some of the builds that people on this forum have shared with us. "Over kill," is subjective.

But I'm drunk, so maybe I'm just spouting off again.

Is it a 10 speed trans or a 5 speed with an electric shift 2 speed rear end? The latter is a common setup for medium duty trucks of the era from F600s to L8000s.

Sounds like a 5 speed transmission with an electric shift rear end . Real common in farm truck out here. Split shift between gears will make the 10 speeds . I have driven a lot of them and you don't need to split shift all of the gears unless you are hauling a real heavy load. They go by my house all day long and have their speed up just right to shift the rear in to high range right at my drive way. You can always tell when it's a new driver just learning that final shift and they do it wrong, lot's a noise .

same transmission setup in my old man's 1979 ford grain truck. i always put it in low and run through all the gears then split it into high. of course if i don't have a load on i just run it in high.
