Overkill...Tie Rod Question
Anyway, what is on your Excursion for a tie rod?
Doesn't look like the factory one.
I only wanna do the welding once and would rather not use the factory bar (my ends have 44k miles on them etc).
Any advice?

I've got a custom straight tie rod with bigger ball joints. Now here is the problem.... I had to clearance my diff. cover to clear the tie rod. Even then I had to add steering stops to keep it from hitting. Fortunately I need them anyway to keep the tires from hitting the springs at full lock so it worked out well. I also had to open up the taper on the knuckles to accept the larger ball joints. It does look better than the stock bent tie rod with all the funky changes in diameter. <img src="http://www.websmileys.de/cool21.gif">
