Need advice on a potential purchase

I'm looking at a 2003 2wd f150 Crew cab with 77000 miles on it. It has a 7.5 inch Fab Tech long travel kit with a 3 inch lift (according to the ad). 5.4 Triton V8.
I have read about the spark plug nightmares associated with these vehicles and I know some general things to look for when checking a used vehicle but I'd like some advice as to specific things to look for when checking out this truck. Also, I know almost nothing about the long travel kit. Is it a good thing? Can I live with it driving daily? I have heard it is hard on the ball joints but that's about it. The price on the truck is good and it looks great but I'm getting out of a money pit of a car right now and don't want to end up in the same situation ( who does?). I'm good with normal maintenance and don't mind wrenching on my vehicles. Any help you can give to make a more informed decision would be greatly appreciated.
