Wow Chris, that's a pretty big machine! I imagine that anything that has to turn the earth and pull out the crop without damaging it is a pretty complex yet heavy as heck piece of equipment..

Yup, that is a 12 row lifter. Fills the truck up pretty quickly. Pretty impressive what it does in one pass.
What are the beets used for that you guys harvest?
Sugar. Good chance the sugar in your house came from a sugar beet plant out this direction. Back when I drove truck the I use to haul sugar out of the plants to grocery store warehouses all over the US.

Dave Dahl the weatherman prognosticated that the weather patterns this last year and to this point have all the indications that we were going to have an earlier and longer winter. Hopefully that doesn't mean colder too!!!
