my husband started the pick-up last night. it started up no problem. he rolled down the driver side window and the pick-up died. he tried to start it back up and nothing. It won't start at all. It has been running fine. No issues prior to this at all. What would cause this? We checked the battery connections, they are fine. It has a brand new battery in as well. It's a 2001.
Is the starter turning the engine over and it just won't run or is it not turning at all? When you turn the key on is the WAIT TO START light coming on?
Is the starter turning the engine over and it just won't run or is it not turning at all? If it is turning over but not starting yo could try unplugging the ICP connector
Thanks Tugly for the picture. If it starts and runs normally the sensor may be bad.
It could be a bad CPS( cam position sensor) but they usually give some indication by way of the engine running rough or stuttering.
