Romping=oil level???

Romping=oil level???
Hi Guys,
Changed my oil the other day for the first time and much to my dismay I discovered what "romping" was at startup. I checked my oil level and discovered it a bit too high. I took about a quart of oil out and the romping has subsided quite a bit. The oil level is still towards the upper full mark so I will take more out till I hit the middle of the dipstick. I only put about 14 3/4 quarts of delo in, so it surprised me that the oil level was too high. There must be some hidden pockets of oil hidden in that monster.

I'd use Shell Rotella but the reason I suggested you try some anti-foam agent is because you seemed to say it got better when you drained out some oil. That could indicate a foaming or aeration problem which will drive your high pressure oil system nuts. It is worth a try just to see if there is anything to be gained.

Go through some of these threads and one of them has a hyperlink to a virtual repair manual which spells these acronyms out.
