The roll bar will serve the purpose of looks and supplying a location for lighting, although I plan to find a brush guard for the front bumper to hold two more. My dad had both on his old 79 and I've always liked the look of it. It may be a smittybuilt? I'll check tomorrow.

The visor I'm probably 75/25 on it. 75 putting it on 25 leaving it off. It was only being held on by tape in these pictures, it'll have more of a nice bow/curve to it when mounted (signature pic is an example).

Those tires look way too small, granted it looks like you have 12-14" wide rims which would shorten the tires height some.

Sorry, I can't help ya. It was on the truck when I bought it, and I just went to a toolbox to fit my needs a bit more. There wasn't any markings that I remember on the roll bar (I should know, I polished that thing many times)

Well I haven't posted anything in a while so here are a few updates:
  • Had the front and rear drive shaft extended/balanced at Henderson Driveline in Westlake, Ohio
  • Installed new brake rotors, Hawk brake pads, and new calipers (stops way better now)
  • Installed a new heater core (thing will burn you up now it gets so hot)
  • Installed the hitch I used to have on my 96 F150 so it looked like I at least made an attempt at having some sort of "bumper" on the rear
  • Picked up a rear slider window from a buddy of mine
  • Got all new tie rods for the front
  • Got those superlift traction bars for Christmas

Looking good! I am moving right along with my project as well. I don't know how to post pictures! I am having exhaust done this week and I was on youtube the other night looking at different trucks with flowmasters and I came across a video with your truck in it!! Found that pretty neat! I am putting super 10's on my 79 F250 this Wednesday. Pretty pumped! Keep up the good work!

Thanks! Just click on the icon that looks like mountains with a yellow background, that's where you upload them. I'm most likely going to go with borlas for this truck but there's a slim chance I may stay with flowmaster. Be sure to get a vid of it and post it so I can see how it sounds!

How do you like those traction bars? Did you notice much of a difference?

I've noticed a bit firmer of a take-off, and the slight vibrations I used to get accelerating between 0-20mph or so is pretty much non-existent now. I like them! Very easy to install.

Glad to hear it! I might have to try a set. I have rear blocks right now so some Trac bars might really help

Ive said it before but i'll say it again, your truck just looks tough,i like them plane and simple looking like yours. NOW, Im not bashing nor am i trying to start anything so please take this the way im meaning it. Your new traction bars on the back are nice but, you really want them to be more level to the ground. They are very similar to the caltracs for leaf spring cars, with your lift and the angle they are(pointing upward) there getting a bit of "stabbing" effect. Fine for off roading but it will increase the "bounce" feeling in the rear of pick up's and will eat up your urathane bushing's quicker on the road. Remember, IMO that is what im seeing. Same with all these ladder bars on the back, the shorter they are the less affective. I built drag racing chassis for the last 28yrs along with auto collision so i have a lot of experiences with chassis. Im sure it will be fine the way it is,i just wanted to mention it, keep up the good work i enjoy watching you guy's builds. Gary.

No i respect your opinion. I'm probably going to drill three new holes about 3/4" down from the ones there now and lower it, maybe even more depending on the fitment. It's never going to be horizontal like it should be due to the nature of the lift. I only put them where they are at now because there was an existing hole on each side to work off of.

Awesome truck. Love the function over form path your taking. I was thinking about running a 6" lift (possibly super duty springs) and 38s I have. Not sure it will fit in the garage though. Could you grab a ground to roof measurement when you get a chance? I love the look of your setup but not fitting in the garage may be a deal breaker. Keep up the good work and thanks!

They wouldn't make it any worse! They're cheaper than ladder bars too and still look cool as well lol
