Im looking at a 89 f350 with 5.8 with 91,000 miles on a trade. i have $350 in what im trading for it. runs great but needs 2 wheels for the dually and a bed. Is it worth it for a daily driver mostly highway. Will us to pull stump grinders for my business.
I am, I need one to drive to firehouse every 3rd day but pull a cattle trailer and stump grinder also. I thought it was a good deal being I can do all the work needed for less than $800 and have a nice looking truck. Thanks guys!
On an '89 with the two digit odometer you have to wonder if that 91,000 is 191 or 291. But for what you're getting the truck for its not that big a deal. Congrats!
Got it home yesterday it does 91,000 original miles. Also it is a swr not dwr. It is a 350. What would I have to do to put dual wheels on it? Has long studs but looking to make it a dwr. Has the 1 ton axle and suspension.
Ok so ran the vin at police dept next to the station and it comes back to a dually cab & chassis. How hard would it be to put a bed on it when it didn't come with one? Not sure if the fram is different. I really like the look of the duallys with a bed and leaning to go that route.
From my understanding, vehicles that were manufactured as bare chassis (aft of the cab) have different frame widths than ones that were to have a bed on them from the factory. There was a recent thread here about it, but can't remember the title of it.
