Should I try to fix this, or come up with another hub?
There is some nasty hammered spots on the end that have made getting the old race out and installing the new race difficult. Being what it is should I even try fixing?
I'd replace it, shouldn't be hard to find. I'm sure you could dress the high spots out to let a new cup be pressed in, but if the surface isn't completely uniform, bearing life may be short. Bearing mfr's want a specific press fit to hold the cup. Only a machinist could tell if the hub is still a perfect circle (not oval) and no high spots. A lot of work if you could just replace it.
