I'm finishing up my wifes truck and last year I had Best Buy put in a Kenwood head unit with a USB & input jack, 4 Kicker speakers and a 10" kicker subwoofer all in a standard cab and it sounds freakin awesome. They did a great job installing it & I wish I had done it along time ago.
About 6-7 years ago I got a JVC CD receiver, Infinity fronts, Kicker rears from Crutchfield for my 94. In 2011 I decided to upgrade the receiver to a JVC USB/Bluetooth unit.
When I ordered the new unit, I told them I wanted to move the original JVC to my 92 Mustang. They sent me the needed harness, faceplate and instructions along with the new unit. No charge.
So I didn't get around to doing the swap till this year. Found out the Mustang has premium sound & needed an additional harness to by-pass the external amp. Called, talked to tech support & they sent me the additional harness for $12. Everything went in just fine.
Crutchfield gives you lifetime tech support for your purchases. If you can do basic wire twisting & follow detailed instructions, you can't beat their service & price.
I have no problem doing the work myself, I'll check out the website. I haven't had to upgrade a system in years not sure what everyone is doing these days. Thanks....
it will be hard to keep it looking stock, aftermarket radios are very distinctive, however i have a simple head unit in mine and it doesnt stand out as much as other head units, however the big 2 guage power line and ground line that you can see behind the seat when you open the door and the 2 12's in the custom box behind the seat look far from stock... all squeezed in a regular cab truck. i put on a lot of road time and like decent bass to go with my tunes.... besides cranking it up and shaking the mirrors on an open road is a great stress reliever, makes for a good back massage to lol
next to HP and lots of torque Music in at the top of my list for stress relief. I like that tractor What's the story on that very cool.... When I was younger an uncle of mine had an old john Deere "b" that I loved riding on. He sold it before I got a chance to get some seat time.

I do not use a Capacitor. I use to own a Rockford Capacitor. From my experience you're better off with a higher output alternator, 2nd battery and the correct gauge wire.

well since this thread has been hijacked lol. its my pulling tractor, bought it 2 yrs ago for a measly 800 dollars with a stock engine and a perfect paint job. stripped it down taking off as much as i could and all that i didnt need, added an adjustable hitch black stack and an dry element air cleaner instead of an oil bath one and pulled it stock. came off the first year very successful considering i had the lowest amount of power out on the tracks, was going to rebuild it in my grandpas shop as his is way better than mine and has chain hoists but his main tillage tractor broke so i ended up assisting him with that and pulled all stock again this year, this year i went to about 5 pulls and came home with 9 thirds 4 seconds and 6 1sts including cleaning house in one pull by taking 1st in all 3 of my classes. this winter i am rebuilding the engine for more performance, punch out the bore and stroke massive amounts of head work, bigger carb hotter ignition as well as convert it to 12 volt and major cam work. non engine related will be bigger and stronger clutch, replace the hand clutch with another trans for a 4x4 gear selection making 16 gears instead of 4 and bigger tires on wider rims, needless to say i have a winter project in the making
I'll chimed in recommending Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, Pro Audio, LED TV as well. For most vehicles it's one stop shopping. When you buy the radio you also get dash adapters, adapter harnesses to the OEM wiring, easy to follow instructions on how to get the OEM radio out, etc. I've also found their phone support staff quite knowledge, or at least the computer systems they have access to is quite knowledgable, about what will and won't work in a given vehicle.

thats one thing i never mentioned, i have not upgraded to a 3g alternator, my original 2g burned up and i couldnt get the conversion pieces together fast enough so i just put a higher output 2g in there because i needed to get the truck back on the road that day. the only time the alternator cant keep up is if i am idling at full volume (sucking 1200 watts from the battery) or the headlights are on and i am over 75 percent volume or 50 percent with the heater on max with the headlights at idle, it never sucks it down when i am driving, but when it does suck it down it goes right to n on normal (which on my truck is 12 volts)

You must have more in your sound system than I've got in my whole truck!
Not saying that's bad.
