Don't follow the fashion scene much, Ferg... am not sure that fins and excessive chrome are ever in our future... but, like you, I like a little massaging on the trucks. For myself, a nice paint job is all that is in my truck's future... after I whip the latest problem with the starter. And the new carbs. And the springs/front end rebuild. and tires. and... the list goes on. best. himmelberg
Hey Himmel! Now that school's out for the summer and it's so darned hot down there....If you want to swing by here for some maple syrup pie or some fresh gooseberry jam and maybe paint a nice mural on our wall, you'd be more than welcome.
Still unemployed , so I'm always here...
Actually it's fairly hot here too but we got the central air cranked up......and there's always a few real beer in the fridge.....
A very kind and gracious offer, Ferg. Thank you. To keep ends met I teach at the local theater and continue to seek out murals to paint. Have a commission starting right at 1 August. Next week, for two weeks are theater classes. Doesn't leave me much summer. We go back to work the 12th of August. Hope you find the perfect job. Best. Himmelberg
Peter, yes that canted quad pix is the one I liked. Also that scalloped one, there is almost a full page of pix on that one. BTW, if you click on any thumbnails on that site you will get a full size pix with nice detail.
There is another using a 56 car grille that is almost OK, just needs some detailing and cleaning up.
Another potential grille swap is a 70's Maverick Grabber, it is somewhat like a 56 Ford but angled a bit and complete with parking lights. I have one in the trailer and been itching to stick it somewhere....no comments Dewayne
I know what you're doing... just trying to get some activity on the boards... no one... NO ONE could like that front grill treatment.
It's one useful purpose is to serve as a bad example (sorta like me in that respect) !!
Hey cuz...
you're gonna love my truck... shaved handles, frenched antenna, third brake light and if possible frenched lights... great minds do truly think alike. who says the only taste we got is in our mouth ???

john... cool and mildly customized "
That's two reasons to love your truck. (The other one is that it's the only truck in here that I stand a chance of getting on the road before it"
How about if you turned the bars vertical and staggered them so they look like teeth? Black out everything behind them and install those tiny pencil-beam headlights...
Personnally I don't like the truck......but as others said to each thier own. I have a 56 f100 and hope to make it my daily driver someday. And I'm sure it will have different opinions on the way it looks. But I also have a 53 that I want to keep original all the way around. To be honest I find it fun to drive and feel the old 50's technology ............just not everyday! And since I'm new to all of this I have stocked up on plenty of aspirin for the long journey and hope to learn while I'm here
Welcome 5356, You should make a new post to introduce yourself. That way more people can get to know you, and you can get into greater deph about your truck. -4speed
Custom or stock????? I vote custom.
At one car show I went to a guy with a very nice custom had a sign in front of his car that said " Anyone can restore a car, just buy parts & bolt them on.
It takes a real man to cut one up"
I adopted that as my saying also. can't tell you the scary feelings that I went through before my first major cut into a classic ride.
