I've recently noticed a situation with the ignition switch in our 2013 F-350. Normally, when the key is inserted, some of the systems come to life and the seat moves from the rear position to the driving position. Recently, when I put in the key, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes the seat starts to move front and then goes back to the easy-out position. Flipping the key over sometimes makes a difference but it does it with both factory keys.
Clearly, this is an ignition switch problem. My question is, is it worth worrying about? I'm sure warranty will replace the switch, but will that result in the need for new keys? We have a couple additional keys that aren't cheap so if I don't have to replace them, I'd rather not!
My ex has an '08 Edge Limited that had the same symptoms. It was the memory module rather than the ignition switch. Perhaps you will also get lucky in that regard.
