This is a great thread!
This thread should be required reading for anyone thinking of doing any suspension mods to their EX, so for that reason I'm bumping it back to the top!
I think we also need more folks here with both stock and modded EXs to post up their measurements, having all of this info in one place makes for an excellent resource for anyone researching or comparing suspension mods.

My 2005 with 115k
center of hub to bottom of fender
Drivers front 22 3/16
Pass front 22 3/8
Drivers rear 23 1/2
Pass rear 23 13/16
Ground to bottom of fender
Drivers front 36 11/16
Pass front 36 7/8
Drivers rear 37 15/16
Pass rear 38 3/8
Last week I put on F550 x codes,
And CaryT type modded B codes.
All used, I netted 2.25 in rear
And netted 2 7/16 up front.
I also used the stock rear ex blocks and u bolts all the way around, the shackles that came with the x codes (appear to be an inch longer the the EX stock ones)
EDIT after a week and a few miles I dropped 1/4" all the way around. Being the springs were used, I don't think they will drop much more.

As a side note, I removed all of the Eddie Bauer cladding from my X, and measured from center of Hub to the bottom most lip of the fender. I am not sure if by removing the cladding if that would skew the results by the thickness and gap of the cladding, which I am estimating at a .25" at most.
This is with my latest suspension modification, wanting to get back down to earth. When I purchased the X, it was lifted sky high, the PO said it had a 6" ProComp lift. I should have taken before measurements, but the above numbers are where I sit now. I had AB Spring in Grand Rapids, MI de-arch my springs 3 inches in the front, and 5 inches in the rear. The rear spring they made for me have a V shape to them, and they swear by them eliminating axle wrap. By having the spring built for me, I told them my goal was to get rid of the lift block in the rear, and have all spring, to keep axle wrap to a minimum. The truck drives a lot nicer now, and feels more sure footed.
I would get a bad rear driveshaft vibration before, very noticeable right around 78 MPH, it would get really buzzing and you could feel it/ hear it. I also had a front driveline issue, that is still not all gone but is better when the hubs are locked, and especially when driving over 50 MPH in 4HI.
I am running stock 265/75/16 Cooper M/S tires now for the winter, and I will see about fitting 37" Goodyear Wrangler MT/R's from a HMWWV. I had a set that were at near 100% tread, and they actually measured at 35.5" tall. Anyone know with my current numbers if they would fit?
I already cut out the front bumper plastic air damn, and I know that I might have to cut more out.

2004 Excursion 4x4 EB, 6.0 6in BDS all spring lift kit. FOX shocks all the way around, dual steering stabilizers. 315-75-r16 BFG's (had driveshaft vibration until new u joints) Still gonna get double cardan DS to be safe.

I just measured mid hub to lip of fender and got 23" in front and 26" in rear. I'm not sure what was added to the rear end or how to find out. I'd like to level the truck and be able to upgrade the wheels to 18" but I have no clue what I need to do...going to do some reading in the tech folder.

You are right at 2" over stock in the rear.. My guess is the PO installed 4" factory F-350 rear blocks. CT look under the rear springs on the axel & see if the block that the springs are sitting on is 2" or 4"

Bone stock rear EX springs and block..............plus airbags! look just above the 2" block's bumpstop arm and there are airbags present, that would explain the added height.
Chad, look around for an air fitting or two on the rear bumper area, they will be the fill locations for the bags.

I've been searching for leveling kits but they're all showing for the trucks and not specifically for the Excursion. I'd appreciate opinions on if either of these (or others you're willing to suggest) to get me the 2" in the front.
