Ohio checking in
After lusting after a friend of mines X, i went looking for my own. Doing some research i found that the northern vehicles have oil pan rust problems so i started looking south. i drove to Indiana to look at one but it was not what they pictured. i found one in kentucky that looked good in the pics so i drove down. after two hours of looking,debating, calling friends about potential problems i was ready to walk away. but i bought it anyway.
the next three hours of two-handed white knucle driving were terrible. i finally got it home and thought what the hell did i just buy. I HATED it! i even called the guy back and offered to sell it back to him for 2 grand less for his trouble. he said no.
thats when i found FTE and all you guys. after extensive research, many trips to advance auto, many internet diesel parts sites, cuts and scars on my hands, ruined clothes from all the grease and power steering fluid and almost a divorce
i think we are going to get along nicely.
i did a TON of work to get this thing to mil spec. I'll post some pics in the forums when i get a chance.
