carb swap
i have a 351m in a 76 f100 that i would like to get more power out of. if i got a carb of a 400 and put it on my 351m would it add any power, what kind of mileage would it get?

In most applications, the 351M and 400 used the same carb calibrations.
If you want to improve power with the stock carb, try the following:
1. Add the Motorcraft 5/8" phenolic spacer (part # CM-3545A, about $15 at any Ford dealer) under the carb and above the EGR spacer.
2. Increase the main jet size (by 2-4 numbered sizes) and install a power valve that opens at a lower vacuum (say 6-8 in/Hg or less).
