1990 "E350 diesel sitting bugs

Hello Ford users:1990 E350 Air Con. Swap? Altnator gauge stuck? Just got a crew cab pu. diesel (7.3?) 2WD A/T (8') Was told "thats a 1 ton suspension. Anyway, been sitting on the docks ( san francisco)1.5 yrs but fired up after some cranking. sounds good at 65Kmi all tho beat up for $1200 who cares As to the Qustions (1) Air compreser not engageing(air con) if I need one will one off a gas engine work? what yrs & from what motors (2)Alternor gauge stuck(?) over on full charge position?. Had charging system checked & its OK & working normal ( shall I bang fist on dash over gauge area to unstick? (3) Has no tailgate "what years & models" will fit this beat-up work truck. I don,t like neting type or droping in a board, but will any F150 -250- or 350 work? (4) Last both tanks are about 1/2 full shall I try to (A) run it out (B) drain it (C) Add to it.

I plan on cleaning the injectors via cleaner in the fule filter

I would be inclined to drain out any fuel that has sat for years.. It will not do your engine much good.

The bed on those trucks didn't really change sine the eighties, so any tailgate should fit, prior to '97

Thanks Theo: Found out the tailgates are the same from 87 / 91 its in the latch thats different. Early might fit but not latch - if I had the latch - switch ?.
Changed the fule filter / water seperator & now it don't start - expect air in the lines ? how do you get it out ?
Was thinking back-off the lines at each cilender till fule pumps out ?
WHATS THE RIGHT WAY TO CLEAR THE AIR OUT ?
