BII tranny
Now, I have rebuilt my transmission twice in the last 9 months and to be quite frank, I'm not tearing into it again. I am pretty good around the shop, and have been working on my own cars and trucks for 10 years and figured a transmission couldn't be that hard. For the most part it wasn't too hard, but upon getting it together found that I could not spin the input shaft at all, and I have taken it apart three times since and still nothing.
My question for all of you ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, (I know you have all had similar problems with the A4LD, or at least have heard someone **** and moan about them,) is where can I get one with a warranty, or even better a guarentee and not have to pay an arm, a leg, and give up my first born (even if at times the latter is apealing)? I would like to purchase a new one, so I know what I have, but I think that $2000 is way to much to pay for a transmission, or any other car part! Thank you to all.

I would go to advanced auto/auto zone....whatever parts shop you got there....and ask them how much rebuilt tranny's cost....
I just bought a rebuilt c-4 for $400
Next question: Do any of you have one you would be willing to part with that you know is good. My parts car didn't come with one that was any good, so now I look to all of your parts cars.
I know,I know. FORD Dealer
Or
swap in a C5 3 speed auto as used in 83/84 2.8 Rangers and 84 Bronco II's.
Or, swap in a 5 speed manual. Don't waste your time on a FM145 Or FM146 mitsubishi, get the M5OD Mazda 5 speed that was used in '90 and newer and 4.0 trucks. The mitsu's genade almost as bad as A4LD's.
