i noticed by brother-in-law's 96 xlt f250 psd extra cab has nice factory speakers in the mid rear corners of the cab. what years were they an option? i looks like i could mod them to fit my 88 f250 extracab that has no rear speakers at all. any info out there?

i have an 88 also. although there isn't any stock holes for the rear speakers i am pretty sure you can put some in there. however, i just put some really nice speakers in the doors with separate tweeters and a sub in the back and the truck rocks. maybe you don't need to put them in?
The first year for rear speakers in any F-series Pickup truck was 1992. The Bronco had them before, but NOT pickups. You could find a set of the plastic panels from a junkyard and wire up some speakers yourself.
used is the way to go. forget new from ford. list is 70 canadian for one side and 207 for the other. can't remember if the left was the more expensive or the right. thats just for the grille only, no speaker. will hunt the junk yards for used.
