I am getting ready to build a 460 for my mud racer but want to do it on a budget. What kind of tricks can I do or need to do to make this thing reliable a little bit more power and still be reliable. This isn't my first rodeo on engine builds but I'm not real familure Ford. Any help will really help my almost empty wallet. Thanks!!
SADDL-UP hit it right on the head. Mostly in port work on heads if your gonna stay with stock heads. Proper cam for what you want engine to do and a good exhaust system
How good of a fabricator are you? Can you make your own Headers, build your own Intake Manifold?
The best thing for a budget is to be patient and buy used.
You can always modify things, the Die Grinder is your friend. I got an Edelbrock Performer intake then Ported it and modified the plenum, I'm happy with the results.
