for those of us with lathe access... if anybody has specs/dimensions on any of these spacers, (this is not violating protected IP, these are derivative dumb designs).post em por favor, along with year/model! If not, I can make a design once I have it all apart. I would probably go with a 1.5 inch spacer as it seems like that will be sufficient to level out my e350.
This is why you DO NOT lift an I-beam with a spacer but use custom bent I-beams, it can not be corrected, as you can see, what you have is a tire eating machine due to improper camber. I did a lift like that years ago to a Bronco II, yet I used a 1" because as you are finding, 2" can not be corrected, FYI 1" resulted in 2" of lift on that lil truck, the tires would rot before wearing out due to it not being driven much. This is why lift kits are expensive, it has to follow the geometry of the original, you can't just space it out.
I just installed this kit on my 2009 E-350 and everything went great. I did have to pay for 2 alignment cams at the alignment shop, but got out for $114 for the cams and the alignment. The kit came in 3 days E350 2WD SUSPENSION LIFT KIT 2 INCH - Performance Sales
awesome! i go back and forth on a small lift for my van, nearing that time where i need to pull everything apart for new bushings, etc. were they able to align it good? drives well no funky handling?
OldBlackCat, no handling issues at all! In fact I swear it drives and rides better now than stock. I asked the alignment guy about that, and he said it was probably due to it needed an alignment all along anyway, and the results are better than I expected.
went back to the shop and told the mechanic where the rubbing was occuring. He hadnt noticed that it was rubbing there?!? He thought the binding was coming from something else...I told him to back the chamber off a little so there could be some space there...Sure enough, he backed it off with a smaller bushing...and now there is a nice gap...apperently the tire is not completely vertical...but its pretty damn close...to the naked eye, looks straight....good enough for now. still needing drop arm linkages for the sway bar and new shocks!
Did you ever locate new shocks? Curious how you figured out what was compatible if so
@REDOVAL How did you work out what shocks would fit? My mechanic is in the same position, insisting the stock shocks don't fit despite the assurances of the kit engineer (now FordPartsOne), but unable to locate replacement shocks guaranteed by third party vendors to fit. I don't know if the shocks you landed on would work on my '97 E-350 Extended Body (gasoline), but I also don't know enough to find others that would. Appreciate any help
