Hello all, new to the site so please excuse me if I posted this in the wrong place: I upgraded my cell phone to a Motorola Droid Maxx for the simple reason that it was shown to be Blue Tooth Text Capable on the SYNC Site - For the life of me I can not get it to work. Does anybody have a similar issue or a process for establishing the B.T. Text connection ? Any and all answers will be greatly appreciated ....
Thanks for your reply Jaclyn, I'm going to operate under the assumption that it is My Ford Touch - It has a large touch/display screen CD Player, Nav System, USB Connection, Line In jack, etc. It is a Sony Sound System. My Cell carrier is Verizon . I've heard some rumblings that it doesn't have the proper software version, and no new version is available for this model year/system ....

The latest software version for a vehicle equipped with MyFord Touch is 3.6.2. I'm happy to see what is installed in your truck,FEEVR.
Have sent several e mails with VIN, still no response after the one that said "Forgot the original issue" OK so back to the original issue - Sync system says that the Motorola Droid Max is not capable of Bluetooth Texting , Thank You
Jaclyn - turns out my truck has Sync with voice activated navigation - Still getting the message that the Motorolla Droid Maxx (Verizon) is not supported for blue tooth texting. Per your website, Software Version 3.1 is the most recent and up to date. Again I purchased the Droid as it was on the list for compatible devices for blue tooth texting ---- Please advise
I have a 2011 Sync with voice activated navigation and it is not text capable with any phone. A 2010 of this model would likely have same incapability.
We need newer trucks to fix this. ;-)
I fear you are correct Big Red, but a new truck is out of the question at this point. I'm more that slightly annoyed that I ended up spending the extra $$ on the Motorola since it was listed as a compatible device. But I'm hoping that there will be some resolution to the problem, and I don't mean a "workaround" that sucks me into purchasing some app.
I have a 2013 w/Sync and Droid Maxx. I have found texting is not allowed with Sync while the vehicle is moving. So I use the Assist app on the phone thru Blue Tooth for receiving and sending texts.

Hi, guys -
Sorry for the delay, I've been waiting to get some more information.
As of right now, 3.1 does not supported the needed MAP (Message Access Profile) to allow for text messaging.
Unfortunately, I don't know when 3.2.2 will be available for your trucks.
