shefner, does you 97 have a v8? I am wondering if it has anything to do with the weight in the front with the v8. My Mountaineer is a v8 with AWD.. let me know. thanks. happycampers
the EE sway bar it made by explorer express (hense EE) just type in explorer express in the computer an you will find all kind's stuff for your mounty (along with the sway bar's)
my 97 explorer is a v8 awd an i don't have any thing's like what your saying happing it handel's like a truck or atleast mine does
Explorer Express makes stronger sway bar kits that help take some of the 'roll' feeling out of your vehicle as you corner.
There is not enough weight difference between the 5.0 and 4.0 to make a difference on an Explorer/Mountaineer. One other thing you might want to think about is the AWD. I personally do not have much experience with the AWD on Explorers and Mountaineers, but when you have power going to all 4 instead of just 2, that can give a different seat feeling also.
Have you ever had, or has there ever been, any work to the rear suspension or axle? Could be the rearend is not riding straight, and is crooked.
