I ve got a '93 F-150 that I love, but is underpowered with the 302.
So I want to put a 351 in it. I've located one that comes with the computer, wiring harness, intake, throttle body, the works.
I'm always leary of swapping engines. So is there anything I need to be aware of? Something to look for or beware of?
well if you have the donor motor and its complete from front to back then the swap over should be no problem. I would just go through and replace as many gaskets as possible now while the motor is out. like valve covers, put new oil pump in things like that. how many miles are on this 351? that would determine a rebuild for it or not. also was that motor and computer hooked up to the same tranny you have now in your rig. if not then thats something you will need to change.
