Question Transmission control

Has anyone tried the Banks Transcommander or other type unit? I just took a trip from Louisisan to Key West pulling a close to 10K trailler. Well at times I could run 75 in OD and no problems and others at 55 it would not go into OD. I know wind and road grade and such play a part but to often it would be going down hill in OD at 70 then shift down, after a while I would push the cruise button and back into OD. This thing has a mind of it's own.

I have installed several Banks Transcommanders. They work very well. The shifts will be firmed up nicely, but unloaded they aren't harsh. They don't change shift points much and won't keep you in OD when you shouldn't be. If you are getting searching shifts into and out of OD you should lock out OD when hauling a large load. OD is ok for towing if it doesn't try to shift in and out of OD.

There are times when I fell it should stay in OD and it does not. I am not over working the trans at that time. As stated it will shift out of OD and not go back but if you hit the cruise resume button it will shift back and stay there for 30 miles or so till you hit a hill then go right back in. Other times it just won't go. So that tells me it is not working to hard just not wanting to go into OD for what ever reason.
