Got a TCI street/stip valve body now. Had a transgo shift kit in the stock valve body. Can't tell the difference between the two. The TCI valve body is just a valve body with their shift kit in it.
Ive thought about that..I probably could go to the salvage yard and get a E4OD and a computer to run it. That would be cheaper I know, But would a E4OD bolt up to a 351m..Was Any E4OD's used early 90's in the F-250's that had 460's?..If so I could do that..
Classic79,
Did that shift kit shift pretty firm, and Jerk you around any..I want a Nice firm shift that will throw you around when you step on the pedal..
The shift kit is very firm. If I run out first any it will chirp second gear. Ain't no doubting when this thing shifts. And with the shift kit, you can hold any gear as long as you want or leave it in drive and it will shift normal, albiet firmer.
On the e40d I've seen them around 1000 reman. But then I think you have to have a computer or is there some that came on the carb trucks of the early 80's that can run off a tv cable from the carb? Its basically a c6 with an extra od gear.
The E4ODs was the only OD tranny available behind the 351 in recent years, theey are all electronically controlled. Baumann (www.baumannengineering.com) makes a stand-alone controller for it so you can put it behind a non-computer engine. It's probably not cheap either. And the E4OD is nowhere near as strong as the C6 on which it was based. A c6 with a G/V OD unit is a much better combo than an E4OD. Just way pricier.
