Dana 60 question
I have a 1978 Bronco with a dana 60 rear and would like to upgrade my front to a dana 60. The question is(or questions rather) , is there such a thing as a dana 60 front with coils instead of leafs and what trucks and from what years would have one? Someone told me there was such a thing but also I have heard that most people use components off of a dana 44 axle and tack them on to the 60.

I think the second answer is correct but don't quote me. I've heard that most folks weld the stuff from the 44 axle to the 60 axle to use it in the coil sprung half ton applications.

I believe only the more recent Dodges had the coil sprung Dana 60s, but they also have the 4-link system using control arms. I may be mistaken, but if this is the case, you'll be better off getting the wedges and trac bar mount and welding them on the D60.
