The install was one of the most fun ones I've done to the Bronco and it'll have a much easier time on the freeway once I ditch the C-6 for a ZF-5...which is turning out to be pretty hard to find 'round here.
Welcome psycolpath. I am about 2 hours east of Shreveport. I have a 79 that I have wanted to do a cummins conversion on. So far it is just sitting there.
On other news I am enjoying a few days at home here in Crowville.
I think I can settle for a used ZF with no issues just fine and rebuild later on. I'm anxious enough to just get one. I've heard of a few junk yards around here, but I think those will have to wait 'till I get off grave yard shifts later on in the year.
Till then, I'll settle for driving it as is and research exactly how I want to do things like supporting the transfer case in the mean time...I'd like to KEEP the cast iron one I have but I dont suppose it's out of the question to swap to a newer aluminum cased unit that was designed to go with the transmission.
It seems like there was a reason I wanted to keep the stock 205, but I'd have to check my old notes to figure out why...
