Intermittent Charge Light
Recently my charge light has started to come on/blink intermittently. When it does, the volt gauge seems to flutter slightly but stays in the 14+V range. Now it seems to only come on when at idle or just maintaining speed and will shut off when I accelerate. My guess is that the voltage regulator is going bad, but the parts stores want half the price of a rebuilt alternator for one of these internal regulators. Anyone seen this happen before?

Well, after playing with the single wire on the alternator, the issue seems to have gone away. The wire is in good condition, so no need to cut and replace. I just cleaned the contacts. Hopefully it's gone for good. Thanks!

Mine did that also, everything looked good, pigtail changed etc. Finally got it to stop when I supported the harness better with plastic convolute and zip ties. Been over a year and no light.
