i have a question for y'all, well anyone who has used or uses a webcam.
i have a webcam which works ok for me, but i wanna buy one for my girlfriend, and i dont really know what is good for the money and waht isnt, so any advice from anybody out there would be appreicated, let me know what you reccomend, im looking for one preferably not over $40, thanks in advance, Nick
What is up with the ads for those things? It's pretty clear that they expect the buyer to film unsuspecting young girls. Some even advertise a 50' cord for free Profanity Removed
no, she will not be posing nude, we live 4 hours away from each other, so we dont get to see each other often, so i thought id be nice and buy her a webcam so we can see each other while we are chatting on yahoo instant messenger
Best Buy and Circuit City have a good selection - the makes change every week, or so it seems. You should be able to see them in action, and pick a good one. I have a Kodak webcam, that works ok, but I have seen better in Best Buy.. About $40 is the going rate for the simpler ones.
Just pulling your chain on the nudity nick. I got one at Walmart for $20.00 that worked pretty good, but I'm behind a firewall and couldn't make the connection unless I shut the firewall down. Then someone or ones broke in & stole a bunch of stuff, including the webcam. Yanked the wires right out of it. Must have thought it was a security camera.
I recently bought a Creative Labs web-cam, aboput $40. It worked with little hassle and offers about as good a picture as my Cable modem will handle through Yahoo Messenger.
i got the "wonder eye" from Walmart. $ 17.00 works GREAT. al it takes is a little adjusting of the contrast, and of course you need decent lighting in the room. paying more doesnt always get you more.
Just a little FYI. If you own a camcorder (I mean if she owns one...or if you own one) you can hook that up to your computer pretty easy and get even better video quality :-) Just throwing some more ideas out there. I'm not exactly impressed with the quality of the cheapies...But you will know its her on the other end. Just hope she doesn't ask if you like what her shirt says (you might not be able to read it)
I bought the Creative Pro from staples the other day, and the pic quality is really good. I have gotton nothing but compliments from my buddies veiwing it. Like I said Staples, think it was $42 and change.
No one mentioned it so I will. You may want to pick up a cheap little microphone too. In case you get the urge to be sweet and send her a video email message or whisper a sweet nothing into it. Trust me, they make your message 100% better. Most are very inexpensive and plug right in. That and they don't require any software.
